Let's discuss one of our latest and most interesting projects. A pet franchise and pet store trusted our logistics solutions for the dismantling and relocation of their pet store from a shopping center in Madrid to one in Valencia.
Once we had studied the operation, we got to work.
The next step was to ask the client about the operation and see the facilities. This is key to the work process we need to intervene in. Once the information is gathered, everything needs to be assessed: the resources we need to use, the type of vehicle or vehicles needed for the job, the effort, the risk involved in moving the materials, and the commitment to deliver to the client.
Adaptation and flexibility in relocating your pet store
At Movipack are very accustomed to working on a project basis, being flexible and adapting to our clients' unforeseen situations.
These types of operations are quite complex, as they involve many variables that we cannot control, so we make an assessment tailored to the type of work, but also according to your needs.
Once the action plan has been designed, it's time for our team to come together and begin following the steps we've set for ourselves.
Design of the action plan for the relocation of the pet store
We carried out this work in three phases.
The first phase was to prepare the pallets with standard measurements. Once the pallets were ready, we sent a vehicle with a 22-pallet tailgate to load all the merchandise and headed to the Valencia shopping center to unload it.
This is where the second phase comes in, where we ran into the problem of the shelving lengths, as they had different measurements, something we couldn't determine until all the merchandise was palletized. There we found that the lengths ranged from 1 to 1.5 meters with varying weights.
The third phase, and perhaps the most important, was finding a way to transport different materials that couldn't be palletized. They had to be loaded by hand and then shipped. Therefore, we decided to use our vans and labor to remove the material from the shopping center. We proceeded to load everything into a 4.80-meter-long van. Although this method of loading takes more time, the chosen solution was the right one, and the van traveled directly to Valencia, where we could properly unload it..
Success in a complex operation thanks to experience
Organizing an operation like this is complex and, above all, costly, but we always adapt to the client and thoroughly study the operation. At Movipack, once we commit, we always achieve success.
